Nominations are being accepted for the KOR Recycling In Excellence Awards

Throughout Kansas, many efforts are ongoing to increase the effectiveness and accessibility of recycling programs. These efforts reduce the amount of waste buried in landfill, conserve natural resources and have created thousands of jobs in Kansas. To recognize and encourage efforts, the Kansas Organization of Recyclers presents Recycling Excellence Awards to individuals, schools, classrooms, businesses and organizations who demonstrate outstanding achievements in recycling.


Who is eligible?

Any individuals, school, classroom, business or organization (non-profit, city, county, etc.) in the state of Kansas who is nominated in accordance with the nomination guidelines described below is eligible for an award. Any individuals can self-nominate or submit a nomination on another’s behalf. A nominee can be nominated multiple times for multiple awards, but will receive no more than one Recycling Excellence Award every other year.


Nomination Guidelines

Nominees who meet the following criteria will be considered: 1) A nomination form must be submitted on behalf of the nominee including any relevant and supporting documentation. 2) The nominee must be actively engaged in the act of recycling or have an impact on recycling efforts in Kansas. 3) only ongoing or completed actions will be considered. Nominations based on planned efforts will not be considered.



All nominations must be submitted to the KOR offices NO LATER than Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Honorees will be announced in mid-January 2018, and presentations scheduled with attendees and all are invited to attend and be honored at Works! 2018.
